Last Friday 25th July the Misfits were invited to see a work-in-progress of Firebird’s The Tempest!
Work-in-progress means the show is not finished yet, and we can give feedback and opinions that help create the rest of the piece.
We went to Bristol Old Vic which Firebirds had taken over for the week, including an exhibition about Firebirds history. They will be performing their full show next year, so stay tuned!
Hear from our members what they thought of the show:
Beth said,
“I went to see the first part of Firebird theatre’s the Tempest at the Bristol Old Vic on Friday 25th.
This was an invite only performance for people with learning difficulties.
I thought I wouldn’t understand it, I read an easy read version beforehand and it helped. I thought the play was accessible, the dancing was good, and the room was nice and big. At times it was hard to hear people.“
David said,
“On Friday 25th July some of the Misfits went to watch the Firebirds sharing of their show The Tempest.
I thought it went really well the actors were amazing playing their characters their performance was brilliant.
I am not a fan of Shakespeare however I really enjoyed the show it was very emotional as in I was very proud of my friends for doing the show.
I would definitely go the full show next year.
Well done the Firebirds!”
