Misfits perform at NHS for Learning Disability Week

Today we’re looking back on our incredible Summer, including performing not once but TWICE for the NHS during Learning Disability Week in June.

Our training group went to Taunton on 16th June and Yeovil on 19th June to share their training performances, made by the group to educate staff in the NHS on the realities people with learning disabilities face in our NHS system.

Here is a small part of the incredible feedback our group received:

“Amazing to hear people’s lived experience presented in a creative way.”

“It has enhanced my thoughts and will made me rethink my nursing practice”

“This performance is the best representation of first hand experience of how people with learning disability experience hospital setting and the challenges that they face.”

“In such a busy environment it is so easy just to get caught up with the day to day, this performance has given me another insight … to stop and think about how to approach things differently with different people and different needs”

“In my experience, the Misfits have always delivered high quality performances that bring home the reality of life for people with learning disabilities in a way that audiences can’t ignore. I have found them to be very creative about getting the message across and always extremely professional.”
