Platform raises £1,115 for Misfits!

We were so excited to hear that Bristol Institute of Performing Arts had picked us as their chosen charity for their Platform event, an exciting showcase from college students on their ‘Performing and Production Arts’ Course!

We attended the event on Friday 13th September, and one of our Misfits members Bill performed his poems Epilepsy Poem and Mirror Ball, and also a poem created by our wider poetry group How to Be A Man. Bill performed wonderfully and enjoyed sharing his poetry.

It was an incredible evening of talent, which we were honoured to be a part of.

With all the ticket sales for the evening being donated to Misfits, we would like to give a massive thank you to Bristol Institute of Performing Arts for raising £1,115 to help us continue our work!

Platform was a showcase celebrating the end of the Performing & Production Arts’ Course’s first week. Talented students lit up the stage with their singing, dancing and acting skills. We watched the stars of tomorrow take their first step on stage today!

“In my experience, the Misfits have always delivered high quality performances that bring home the reality of life for people with learning disabilities in a way that audiences can’t ignore. I have found them to be very creative about getting the message across and always extremely professional.”
